HIV IN THE NEWS

Medicine services

Individuals who do not have pharmacy insurance may be eligible for limited or short term supplies of some medications through the CAMC Ryan White Program.

Our care coordinator and social worker will also help individuals apply for pharmacy assistance programs.  These programs, sponsored by most pharmaceutical (drug) companies, provide medicines for individuals who are unable to afford them.

ADAP
In West Virginia, the Bureau for Medical Services administers a special drug program for HIV/AIDS patients who are not eligible for Medicaid. This program, funded by the federal government through the Ryan White legislation, provides for coverage of certain FDA approved drugs for HIV positive or AIDS patients who have incomes up to 250 percent of the federal poverty level, but who are not eligible for Medicaid.  The program is called the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) and is managed by the HIV Care Consortium.  For more information about ADAP eligibility, contact the Care Consortium case manager for the county in which you live:
